Thank you for your donation towards Japan Tsunami relief effort!

RECAP OF THE CHARITY DRIVE
Thank you so much for your generous donation towards the on-going relief efforts in Japan. It’s now been 2 weeks since the 9.0 earthquake and tsunami, and the news cycle has moved Japan off the front page. However, there are still 17,400 people missing (most presumed dead), with hundreds of thousands homeless at a time when temperatures drop below zero at night. Survivors in the hardest hit locations are still in need of running water, medicine, and basic supplies; comforts we take for granted, like hot showers and a warm bed, will not be available for a long while more.
However, thanks to generous donors like you, organizations such as Direct Relief International are able to provide much needed aid to the people of Japan. From this charity run, over $3000 was raised in less than 30 hours! Several more donations continued to come in over the next few days. After subtracting Paypal fees (2.9% + $0.30) and expected print costs (for the tiered donors), the total came out to an amazing $3675.86! Great job, everybody! 🙂
For our thoughts on this charity drive, a copy of the donation receipt, as well as a thank you message from Direct Relief International, head over to our blog post: http://www.junshien.com/5414/charity-drive-for-japan/
SCHEDULING YOUR MINI-SESSION
For those who donated at a tiered level, you will be receiving an email over this weekend from Jen our studio manager. At that time, you will be able to schedule your mini-portrait session. The mini-sessions will be taking place on the following dates:
Sunday April 3rd: South Bay, possibly Hakone Gardens (we’re seeing if they can waive the $150 shooting fee)
Saturday April 16th: San Francisco, Japanese Tea Garden
Saturday April 23rd: South Bay, possibly Shoreline Park in Mountain View
There will be more than enough spots for all tiered donors, with spots available from 9:30am until 6pm. However, PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL THIS WEEKEND, because sign ups will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
NON-TIERED DONORS
For those who did not donate at a tiered level ($100 and above), and for those who donated after all spots were taken, you will be receiving a gift in the mail within the next couple weeks. We won’t say what exactly it is, but here’s a hint: it’s a print product that we’re very excited to announce soon! 😀
GIFT BAG
All donors will also receive access to these offers from local businesses:
1 free cupcake from HannaH Coffee & Sweets
professional makeup session with A-List Makeup for only $20
free $25 credit towards any jewelry at BoLee Bridal
bouquet from Petals by Cary for only $20 (proceeds will also go towards the tsunami relief)
free financial consultation session with Strategic Financial Group of CA
Details will be given in the email Jen will be sending out. If you have any questions about this or anything else, please wait until you receive that email — your question will probably be answered then.
Again, we humbly thank you for your generosity towards the people of Japan, and we look forward to meeting those of you who are signing up for a mini-session.
